Below is a video created by the  Dance/NYC Junior Committee as it launches its Dance Workforce Census, whose aim is to count every individual 21-35 years of age who works in any capacity to support professional dance in New York City. The Committee’s intention is to generate conversation among the communities and individuals that participate and to publish results that will serve as a tool for informed decision-making, on the part of peers, colleagues and employers, and all advocates for dance. The video lists occupations, from dancer and cater/waiter to fund-raiser, lawyer and choreographer  – but no dancefilmmakers…yet!
