Adapts themes of transformation, communication, and desire from mermaid folklore and expresses them as never before. Through Dancinema, we see Dance’s transformation when met with cinematic machines parallel to Ondine’s experience coming to land and meeting a Human Artist. From Anderson, the desire for a soul and some afterlife parallels the way the ephemeral nature of live performance changes when it is recorded. Ondine and the Human Artist are creatures of different realms drawn to discover each other. Communicating with their arts and senses, in spite of contrasting natures they are able to bond, but different in critical ways.
