GIMP-The Documentary intimately captures the creation, performances and public response of The GIMP Project by Heidi Latsky Dance. GIMP features both conventional bodies and bodies of one of the most stigmatized groups, the disabled. It forces the viewer to question their own definitions of beauty, as the dancers confront the audience and daringly invite them to stare, making this often invisible demographic highly visible. GIMP-The Documentary reorients the spectator’s perceptions of disability, while challenging traditional definitions of the dancer and the dance.
