“…consistently pushing the boundaries and producing intriguing, beautiful and high-quality pieces” (Sabine Klaus, Creation Editor).

Physical TV’s Artistic Directors, Richard James Allen and Karen Pearlman, think of their work as ‘stories told by the body’ and they will weave a story of transformation for Wednesday night’s participants and audience by screening excerpts from their award-winning body of work and speaking candidly about process and ideas over the years of their creative partnership.
“Their choreography has predominantly been an exploration of the human condition using the medium of film and video. The content is often playful and light-hearted, but by no means lightweight, and is always delivered with enormous passion and conviction” (Chrissie Parrott, dancewest magazine).
After the brief story of their own work, Richard and Karen look forward to hearing the stories of other creative minds and bodies working in dance on screen, offering their insights from the perspective of their substantial experience as mentors, teachers, creative producers and editors. A screening of additional dance films from DFA Member’s will take place that evening including: Desert People Director: Sarah Dahnke Desert People is a film about a woman on a solo journey, isolated from civilization, crossing the desert barefoot. (work in progress) THROB (working title) Director and Choreographer: Jody Oberfelder, Cinematography and Editing by: Jason Bahling THROB is inspired by heroics of the heart.
