Dance Films Fests…passed by and coming right up

Upcoming:  ADF’s 16th Annual Screendance Festival, directed by Doug Rosenberg as part of the American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina, June 24-26. The program features 2 dozen shorts – including ones by DFA members Beth Portnoy and Marta Renzi – and two long-form documentaries: WAYNE MCGREGOR – GOING SOMEWHERE, and A GOOD MAN.
Gone by, but still viewable online, is the60secondsdancefestival. Co-ordinated by Jeannette Ginslov from ScreenMoves in Copenhagen and funded by Dansens Dage and Nordea-fonden, its goal is “to give screendance makers the opportunity to produce, through their lens, a one-minute online screendance video.”  FLYING LESSON, shown at the DFA Dance on Camera Festival and produced by DFA member Tanja Meding, was chosen from over 100 submissions as a Top Ten finalist. And the winner is – drum roll, please –  ‘Rooms’ by Valerijs Olehno:
