GIVE TO DANCE FILMS ASSOCIATION AND GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT TODAY! 

Through showcases, educational programs, a national film touring program and the annual Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center, DFA supports the creative process and excites audiences with a unique experience of dance and film.

  • Our free or low-cost Dance Labs have inspired and enabled hundreds of dancers and filmmakers to explore new artistic territory.
    YOUR CONTRIBUTION will add more course offerings, compensate industry professionals for master classes, and create an on-line technical support forum.  
  • Our pilot Student Film Competition invites high school students to create dance films for screening at the Dance on Camera Festival, 2012.  The winning work will lead off the closing night program.
    YOUR CONTRIBUTION will expand dance film instruction to high schools throughout New York City and beyond.
  • DFA has just been awarded a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation Cultural Innovation Fund to produce high-tech dance films.
    YOUR CONTRIBUTION will enable ground-breaking dance film to reach theater and on-line audiences around the world.  (All contributors at the $500 amount and above will be acknowledged in the films’  credits.)
  • Our new programs reflect New York City’s diversity and reach underserved audiences.  Recent ventures include Dancing in Public at the Solar 1 Green Energy, Arts, and Education Center on the East River, and an Indian dance event, where our screening was followed by a Q&A forum.
    YOUR CONTRIBUTION will allow us to partner with community groups, enrich our programming and bring dance film to new audiences. 
  • DFA’s seeks expand the function of its website  in order to increase access to dance on camera and become a hub for dance film. DFA aims to also host an online database of member filmmakers requests so that artists can easily share resources.
    YOUR CONTRIBUTION will help us to host a video archive on DFA’s site and provide shared resources.
