In the fall of 2012, students in two NYC public high schools were introduced to a music and dance genre from Angola, Africa known as Kuduro. The phrase Kuduro directly translates as ‘hard ass’ in Portuguese (the language spoken by 80% of Angola’s population) and the Kuduro movement is now spreading out to the rest of the world.
