"Artists take enormous personal risks to bring their work to the public. Bearing the responsibility to produce bodies of work that mirror our society, artists offer personal insight and critique revealing intimate interest of deepest desire and intellect. This is a route to the heart of ourselves, which when traveled, exposes the hidden truths of our times. Art travels this path. It is important, life-affirming, to be able to see, hear, and touch the artist's creation"
