Call for submissions from New York City High School Students!

Capturing MotionSubmissions Now Open! Deadline: January 4th, 2013 Submission Form Dance Films Association seeks New York City high school student dance film submissions in conjunction with the annual Dance on Camera Festival co-sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Student film submissions should be between 1-5 minutes in length and should feature dance as the film’s main component. Student submissions should address the relationship between dance and the camera, linking the two in imaginative ways. Films can be documentary, narrative or art films.

The Bolshoi Ballet’s The Pharaoh’s Daughter The Pharaoh's DaughterDecember 2

Originally a hit when first staged in 1862, The Pharaoh’s Daughter fell out of favor with the Soviet regime. In 2000, Pierre Lacotte was commissioned to resurrect Petipa’s mighty Egyptian fresco, and it became a hit yet again. This production starts Svetlana Zakharova as the Egyptian princess and Ruslan Skvortsov as the English Lord. Check for times and theaters near you!
