*Only DFA and DNA members may submit to screen their work. Screenings selected on a first come first served basis. Each Moderated Screening will include 4 works. Please remember that we can only screen material on DVD and that screened footage should be less than 10 minutes.

Legal Issues in Dance and Choreography

vlaThis class will provide an overview of the legal and business issues that affect non-profit and for-profit dance companies, individual creators, choreographers, and performers, such as dancers. Topics discussed include: business entity formation, intellectual property protection, rights of publicity, contracts, licensing, and labor and employment. This class will be taught by Elena M. Creating a Classic: Corella Ballet

Barcelona Ballet (formerly Corella Ballet) at New York City Center April 17-20, 2012 Tickets  corella ballet Creating a Classic: Corella Ballet is a DFA fiscally sponsored documentary film directed by Gerri L. Gagnon. After an absence of 20 years, classical ballet finally returns to Spain as Ángel Corella, the acclaimed star of American Ballet Theatre creates a new company and school for the next generation. This documentary is on the creation and development of the Barcelona Ballet (formally Corella Ballet). See the Barcelona Ballet April 17-20 at New York City Center.

Synopsis wishing...A lost love and marriage is evoked in a poetic dance of longing and memory. A man is ushered into another world, by two guardian angels, in search of his lost bride. Their marriage and relationship is evoked through a series of kinetic snapshots and romantic dance sequences.
